A. A. Turki Corporation was asked to bid for the new Distributed
Control System (DCS) for the Emergency Shut Down system at
Ju’aymah Gas Plant near to Jubail. The existing system was
deemed to be dated and therefore required a complete replacement. Against stiff competition, a bid led by Honeywell, but including
systems and equipment from Bently Nevada and Compressor Controls
Corporation, all A. A. Turki Corporation represented companies,
was awarded to A. A. Turki Corporation in December of 2003. The total value, undisclosed at this time is in excess of
US $ 10,000,000 and is due for full completion before the
end of 2004. The preparation of the bid involved intense co-operation
and co-ordination between all parties concerned, including
ATCO Commercial Division. Work has already commenced on the
final design and engineering work required for full implementation. |
